Trump joined members of the Coronavirus Task Force in a news conference at the White House to provide an update on the government’s ongoing response and measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Trump also announced the “dramatic” expansion of medicare telehealth services for patients to use phone and video conferences through apps like Skype and Facetime with their doctors for free to encourage social distancing amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

In addition, he said the government would provide financial assistance to Boeing Co as the entire aviation sector faces economic turmoil over the coronavirus pandemic. Vice President Mike Pence said the government was urging construction companies to donate N95 face masks to local hospitals and not purchase any more to help doctors. With markets gyrating and mostly on a downward trend, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said the U.S. stock markets should remain open to assure Americans that they can access their money.
