Hartley Sawyer fired from The Flash over tweets from 2014

WB/CW just announced that they Fired Hartley Sawyer of the show The Flash over the weekend over Offensive Social Media Remarks he made between 2012-2014! So now It looks like someone saw them just now? Seriously? Or did they react due to the current riots, and looting? The show is now in it’s seventh season according to The Hollywood Reporter, Hartley Sawyer has been fired from the role he played since season 4 as Ralph Dibny/The Elongated Man.

The Hollywood Reporter also shared a few examples of Sawyer’s resurfaced tweets: “Among the tweets users surfaced in the past two weeks are one from 2012 in which Sawyer wrote ‘The only thing keeping me from doing mildly racist tweets is the knowledge that Al Sharpton would never stop complaining about me.’ In 2014, he wrote, ‘Enjoyed a secret boob viewing at an audition today.’ Several tweets refer to assaulting women, and one reads, ‘Date rape myself so I don’t have to masturbate.’” He’s not talking about Raping a man he’s talking about date raping himself like role playing with himself so it’s not just masturbating. Offensive? Crud? SURE, and even yes! Worth getting fired for? NOPE! Not when you hire James Gunn who’s made WORSE comments…

The producers of The Flash issued the following statement: “Hartley Sawyer will not be returning for season seven of The Flash. In regards to Mr. Sawyer’s posts on social media, we do not tolerate derogatory remarks that target any race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation. Such remarks are antithetical to our values and polices, which strive and evolve to promote a safe, inclusive and productive environment for our workforce.”

Additionally, Sawyer acknowledged his posts and shared an apology on his Instagram account.

“My words, irrelevant of being meant with an intent of humor, were hurtful, and unacceptable,” wrote Sawyer. “I am ashamed I was capable of these really horrible attempts to get attention at that time. I regret them deeply. This was not acceptable behavior. These were words I threw out at the time with no thought or recognition of the harm my words could do, and now have done today.”

It’s unclear if Sawyer’s role will be recast. Ralph Dibny’s role was increased in season 6, when the show introduced Natalie Dreyfuss as Sue Dearbon. In the comics, Ralph and Sue eventually married and shared adventures together. The season 6 finale set up a new Ralph and Sue storyline, after she was framed for murder.

But wait this from the same company that they hire JAMES GUNN who has a history on Twitter of saying much worse? Where is this so called Moral of theirs? Talk about idiotic, and stupid! NOT to mention hypocritical!

So let’s get this right people they hire this guy and how many seasons later he’s fired? Over those tweets? LOL The WB/CW has now reached an all time low. I’m done with this B/S network. Never watching their shows or movies again… Oh, I could careless about HBOMax or the SnyderCult. They support a pedophile director, and fire an actor after he’s been with them for years over comments he made 6 years ago on twitter which are not even 10% as offensive as what James Gunn tweeted out.
