Katie Hobbs Stepping Down as Arizona Governor?

Image
So in short Wednesday September 27, 2023 evening, the Arizona treasurer announced that she would serve as acting governor beginning later that evening until mid-morning Thursday, amid a short absence from Gov. Katie Hobbs. So far it looks like it's because she's not in the state for some reason in an "Extended Leave" so in a press release on X, (Twitter,) Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee announced her brief tenure as acting governor, saying that she is "pleased to step in this role." The Republican state treasurer noted that during her less than 24 hours as acting governor she would refrain from confirming the 13 agencies that still hold vacancies and wait for the Democratic governor to fill them upon her return. "While I am pleased to step in this role, I will refrain from naming directors to the 13 agencies that currently have vacancies and will not call the Arizona Legislature into session to confirm them," Yee said in an X post. Maricopa County Chairman Transferred to Undisclosed Location After Death Threats

A top Maricopa County election official has been moved to an undisclosed location over safety concerns following the midterm elections. Maricopa County Supervisor Bill Gates confirmed on Sunday that he was transferred and provided a security detail after workers at the Arizona county elections office faced months of escalating death threats that made it increasingly difficult to do their job.  Gates, a Republican, has faced particular backlash as a vocal critic of false election claims spurred by Trump’s election denialism in 2020. Gates’ transfer comes on the heels of a particularly volatile gubernatorial race in the swing state, in which Trump-backed MAGA candidate Kari Lake lost to Democratic challenger Katie Hobbs.  So far, Lake has refused to concede the race. On Monday, hours before she was projected to lose, an attorney for Lake’s campaign allegedly called Maricopa County to warn the office of “a lot of irate people out there” that their campaign “can’t control,” according to

To that end, Cyber Ninjas was engaged by the Arizona Senate to audit the 2020 General Election and determine in what areas legislative reform may enhance our current process so that our elections may continue to get better, becoming “more perfect.” In doing so, it was our goal to improve confidence in American elections by identifying areas where legislation could resolve any identified issues. This audit has been the most comprehensive and complex election audit ever conducted. It involved the hand counting of 2.1 million ballots, a forensic paper inspection of all ball

BREAKING: The Arizona audit results released

Americans now can see for themselves what the rest of us knew coming into these audits but now as we watched with bated breath Thursday as the Arizona audit results were released in a legislative hearing one of the auditors, Ben Cotton, dropped perhaps what is the biggest bombshell of the  Maricopa County audit , revealing that election systems’ security was so bad it could have been hacked in a matter of minutes. At the hearing, Cotton briefed the Senate leaders on evidence showing the registration server was breached. “We know through public record, public statements, that an element of the election system was actually compromised or breached during the course of the November 2020 election,” he said. “The registration server that was public-facing did have unauthorized access to that in cybersecurity terms, it was breached. We know that the county has accepted that as an unauthorized breach because they actually issued a letter to a small subset of the voters who were affected by tha
